He may have only concluded his last tour in June, but that hasn’t stopped Aussie singer songwriter Whitley from announcing another national tour. But this one has a slight difference (and its a difference that may not be to the liking of his many fans across the country). According to Whitley, this will be his last every Australian tour.
“It’s been a great time playing all this music, but it’s time for me to pack it in here, there’s only so many times you can play around the same venues and expect to be stimulated and inspired. I mean, when you’re sitting in a band room and realize you’ve read and memorized 48% of the toilet’s graffiti in every venue, you know it’s time to explore new horizons… I know there could be a whole new world of toilet graffiti out there, new penis drawings that I can’t even conceive of in my feeble mind right now, with swearing in a completely foreign language.”
And so, with new horizons to be reached and new and exciting adventures to be had, Whitley will head off on his last ever tour of the country, kicking off in Perth on Thursday August 05, travelling through WA, SA, TAS, QLD, VIC, ACT and finally New South Wales, where he’ll perform his last show (with free entry, no less) at the Sussex Inlet Tavern.
