The 2010 Mercury Prize will be handed out during a ceremony to be held in London next Tuesday. The award, founded in 1992, seeks to recognise and pay tribute to the Best British Album of the past year.
Nominations for the awards are as always judged by a panel of industry experts, music journalists and musicians throughout the UK, with this year’s finalists below;
The team at BBC Two will broadcast the event in Britain throughout the night, with hosting duties shared by Lauren Laverne and Jools Holland.
