• News just to hand is that Glee star Mark Salling has delayed the Australian release of his forthcoming album ‘Pipe Dreams’ (pictured) by one week. According to his Aussie publicists, this is “to allow for a bonus track to be added” to the new LP. It’s now due to hit stores on Friday October 22.
• Swedish songstress Robyn, visiting the country later this year as part of the Stereosonic Festivals has announced a Melbourne sideshow. It’ll take place at the city’s Prince Of Wales Hotel on Thursday December 02, with tickets on sale now.
• Teen Warner Music signing Cody Simpson will be taking a break from recording his debut album over in the United States and will return home early next month to be part of the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards. He’s nominated in the ‘Fresh Aussie Musos’ category in the ceremony, to be held at Sydney’s Entertainment Centre on Friday October 08.
• The Country Music Channel this week announced the dates and venues for the 2011 ‘CMC Rocks the Hunter’. The festival will be held at the Hope Estate Winery in New South Wales’ Hunter Valley on March 05 and 06. The line-up for next year’s event is set to be revealed on Monday October 25.
• She’s been by Andre Rieu’s side on-stage for the past couple of years, but now Aussie starlet Mirusia is about to step out from the violinist’s shadows with her debut solo record ‘Always & Forever’. The Brisbane native’s album contains 14 songs that details experiences she’s had with Andre over the past two and a half years. ‘Always & Forever’ is available on Friday October 08 and Mirusia returns to Australia as part of Andre’s tour next month.
• Due to overwhelming demand for tickets, the boys from Cloud Control have added a third Melbourne date at the city’s East Brunswick Club. The new show comes on the back of the sold out show at the Corner Hotel on October 01 and a nearly sold out date (also at the Corner Hotel) on the 5th. The new show takes place on October 04, with tickets on sale from the band’s OFFICIAL WEBSITE this Wednesday (September 22).• Sony Music will release this Jimi Hendrix Anthology (left) in Australia on Friday November 19. The deluxe box set features four CDs and a DVD, containing four hours of live and unreleased tunes from one of history’s most revered guitarists.
• Susan Boyle dreamed a dream – and this week the dream came true, with the singer performing her version of the Les Miserables classic to Pope Benedict on his visit to Scotland.
• Could it be legit? Or could it all be for the cameras? Looks like things are heating up on the X Factor, with judges and mentors Natalie Imbruglia and Ronan Keating enjoying a little friendly sparring ahead of Sunday night’s live performance show on a Youtube video you’ll find HERE.
• Rihanna’s new single has really struck a chord with the Aussie record buying public – it’s slammed its way into the top spot on the iTunes chart on its first day of release. Jess Mauboy’s also hit the top 20 running with her new single ‘Get ‘Em Girls’.
• In the United States, Katy Perry’s single ‘Teenage Dream’ still rules the roost on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, with Bruno Mars’ ‘Just The Way You Are’ gaining one spot, Nelly surging and Flo Rida hitting a new peak.
• And on the US albums chart, Sara Bareilles has debuted at No.1 with her brand new LP ‘Kaleidoscope Heart’. Stone Sour, Interpol and Anberlin were other top ten debuts.

How lovely would it be if Australia was to go with things at the same time as in the UK, like we do with pretty much everything that comes out of the US?
There’s no more Cheryl on the local horizon at this stage, but as soon as we hear anything, we’ll be sure to let you know.
We assume, however, that Universal won’t want to release her new album locally until after Christmas because it’ll merely get swamped in the raft of pre-Christmas releases.

Any idea if/when “Promise This” by Cheryl Cole will hit Aussie radio? Or digital?
Kinda obsessed with the song so I hope Cheryl’s new album is launched on a similar time line to the UK.
