Young Ryan Meeking was one of the first artists we ever interviewed here on auspOp. He had a very wicked sense of humour and a swag of good tunes behind him and as such we’ve got a little soft spot. So imagine our surprise to hear that he’s back with not only a brand new single (it’s called ‘We’re Still Saying Nothing’), but a tour to boot.
But we’ll get to the tour shortly. After a little break from last year’s musical interlude (and dropping ‘And The Few’ from the band name), Ryan popped off to the United States to begin recording the band’s debut album. And it’s after a big, long, two month process that the band has decided to kick up its heels and trek across the eastern seaboard to give audiences a little sample of what they’ve been missing since last year’s ‘Night Owls’ EP.
They’re essentially playing Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria – in that order, but they will finish things off at the end of October with a gig at the Jive Bar in Adelaide.
Tickets for the shows are on sale now. The band’s new single ‘We’re Still Saying Nothing’ will be available digitally from Friday October 08.
