JENNIFER LOPEZ : Waiting For Tonight
What we can’t quite get over is that we’ve been around for two and a half years now and this is literally the first time that we’ve written anything other than a mention about Latino beauty Jennifer Lopez. And though we guess it’s because she hasn’t had any new music to promote in that time, (a) she’s now one of the judges on American Idol and (b) there’s no excuse for rudeness. So without further ado, let us present our Lookback clip of the week, Jen’s platinum single from 1999, ‘Waiting For Tonight’.
Shortly after J-Lo had stormed the chart with her debut ‘On The 6’ single ‘If You Had My Love’, she showered us with the glittering pop gold that was ‘Waiting For Tonight’, a high energy dance/pop number that won the Aussie record buying public over with it’s infectious groove and hands-in-the-air chorus.
In fact, Australia was reportedly the only country in the world where the song actually went platinum. The clip? It’s all pouting, laser lights, skimpy outfits and shiny, flat hair… Wait! Cue the wind machine!!!

It’s kind of interesting how ‘Let’s Get Loud’ wasn’t one of her biggest chart hits, but nowadays in perhaps her most remembered and/or signature song.

I agree, twistoftroy. Let’s Get Loud is an awesome track…along with Ain’t It Funny…

Yeah, I loved Do It Well, didn’t hear the album ’cause it didn’t sell well so I assumed it wasn’t very good.
I agree, Let’s Get Loud is the quintessential JLo tune, but this is a close second. I love when she sticks to the pop/latin/r&b route and doesn’t include rappers and tries to be too hip-hop.

Count me In on this one. Great pop track but nothing comes close to Let’s Get Loud! Like her or not J-Lo did release some great tunes, actually Brave her last album was a great album, shame it didn’t sell.
