She’s experienced some pretty decent success here in Australia, particularly with her worldwide smash ‘Tik Tok’ and its platinum follow-ups ‘Blah Blah Blah’ and ‘Your Love Is My Drug’. But now Sony Music have serviced a brand new Ke$ha single to Australian radio – and it’s NOT from her album ‘Animal’.
‘We R Who We R’ (cover art pictured) is the first track taken from a new Ke$ha EP entitled ‘Cannibal’, which has been slated for a November release here in Australia.
The new EP will be packaged together with the original album and will deliver “almost an album’s worth” of new material, giving fans plenty of new tunes to get their pop chops around.
To celebrate the release of ‘Cannibal’, Ke$ha will hit our shores next month for a seven day promotional visit.
The ‘Animal + Cannibal’ repackage is slated for release on November 19.

Hey Jack,
It was supposed to hit digital on Monday, but according to the latest release schedule, it’s now going to be tomorrow.
(This is why we don’t put digital release dates on our new release schedule – they can change at a moment’s notice).

Jack says
yeah i know. but they stopped doing digital singles of kesha’s after “blah blah blah” which annoys me cos we miss out on remixes.
and there is STILL no single on the aus itunes store :(
any news?
auspOp says
Hey Jack,
Just to clarify, a digital single is that which you purchase from iTunes. There will be NO PHYSICAL CD single of this product.

Damn. I wanted to get it separately. This is the third time I am going to but her album (2nd was for the CD/DVD edition). But it’s Ke$ha and I don’t mind, cos it’s going to be good. And digital single is good news. From what I heard, they weren’t going to release digital singles anymore (apart from UK). So this IS good! Thanks auspop :)

Hey Brad and Jack,
We got sick and tired of waiting for our Sony contact to get back to us, so we’ve gone elsewhere and have found that Ke$ha’s digital single will be released on October 25 (next Monday).
BUT, disappointment is that the ‘Cannibal’ EP will apparently only be available with the ‘Animal’ deluxe package re-release ala Gaga’s ‘The Fame Monster’.
The auspOp team
Jack says
Has there been any news of a Digital Single? Because, from what I have heard we will have to wait till the album is released. That’s too far away! Please tell us if there is any news of a digital single soon!
auspOp says
Hey Casey,
No, no details at this stage on her promotional duties, but you can bet your bottom dollar she’ll stop in at Sunrise and at Hey Hey It’s Saturday.

Hey Brad,
We were waiting ’til the close of business on Friday to answer your query, but our Sony representative is a bit slow to respond. (They still haven’t).
Sony’s usually quick off the mark to digital with their singles, so we assume it’ll be within the week.
As for the EP being released on its own, the official press release states;
“Consisting of nearly an album’s worth of new songs, it will be made available for sale with Animal in a special deluxe repackage called Animal + Cannibal.”
And;
“KE$HA TO RELEASE CANNIBAL, THE HIGHLY ANTICIPATED COMPANION TO HER PLATINUM DEBUT ANIMAL ON NOVEMBER 19.
CONTAINING 8 NEW TRACKS AND A NEW REMIX, CANNIBAL WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE FOR SALE WITH ANIMAL IN A SPECIAL DELUXE REPACKAGE CALLED ANIMAL + CANNIBAL”
What we can draw from that is pretty much uncertainty until such time our Sony contact gets back to us.

Killer cover!

Just two questions:
1. Is there any news on the Sony release schedule for when the single ‘We R Who We R’ will be released digitally?
2. Will their be a standalone EP edition of ‘Cannibal’ without the original album ‘Animal’ on there? Mostly because, I know in the US that there will also be an EP version with the 8-9 tracks for the fans who have already purchased the original album.
