Australian Idol Stan Walker was one of the big winners at last night’s Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards. Held at Auckland’s Vector Arena, the awards ceremony was particularly kind to Stan – and to fellow NZ singer Gin Wigmore – as both picked up four awards apiece.
Gin picked up the gongs for Album Of The Year, Pop Album Of The Year, Breakthrough Artist Of The Year and Highest Selling NZ Album.
Kids Of 88 picked up the coveted Single Of The Year prize, while Dane Rumble and Anika Moa picked up best male and best female respectively.
In the meantime, Stan picked up the awards for Highest Selling NZ Single, NZ On Air Airplay Record Of The Year, the International Achievement award, as well as the people’s choice category.
Back home, Sony has announced the next single to be lifted from Stan’s album ‘From The Inside Out’. ‘Homesick’ will go to radio next and will follow on from his gold selling singles ‘Unbroken’ and ‘Choose You’.
Listen out for it on a radio station near you from Monday October 25.
