• Hot on the heels of their ARIAs live appearance last weekend and their subsequent rise on the ARIA charts this week, EMI has wasted no time in announcing that Birds Of Tokyo’s latest LP has been classified platinum for sales of more than 70,000 copies. It joins the single ‘Plans’, which is also a platinum success. The band has also just revealed the video for their latest single ‘Wild At Heart’ which you can view at their OFFICIAL WEBSITE.
• Sigur Ros frontman Jónsi has announced that just three days after his gig at the Hammersmith Apollo in London later this month, he’ll release a brand new CD/DVD package called ‘Go Live’ exclusively through his website. The package is set to contain live versions of all tracks from Jónsi’s debut LP, plus unheard versions of the unreleased stuff fans have been lapping up on his tour and a DVD of the final dress rehearsal for the tour back in March. Check HERE for more information.
• Universal Music has announced that the debut album from West Australian duo Tim & Jean is to be called ‘Like What’ and it’s currently scheduled to see the light of day at retail on Friday February 11.• A slightly slower week on the new music front this week, with only around a dozen tracks from the majors being serviced to radio – including the new single from T.I. featuring Chris Brown called ‘Get Back Up’ (pictured). In servicing the track, Warner also revealed that the rapper’s album ‘No Mercy’ would be getting an Australian release on Friday December 03.
• Also from Warner this week was The Ready Set’s ‘Love Like Woe’, while on the Universal Music side of the draw, it was a re-service of Alex Gaudino’s ‘I’m In Love (I Wanna Do It)’, Diddy’s ‘Coming Home’ and Mumford & Sons’ latest ‘Roll Away Your Stone’.
• Sony popped out the new Ciara single ‘Gimmie Dat’ (more on that later), the title track from Joe Cocker’s album ‘Hard Knocks’ and Syndicate’s ‘Shout’, while EMI serviced Tricky’s new single ‘Ghetto Stars’ and Anna Calvi’s track ‘Jezebel’.
• On the UK singles chart this week, the reformed Take That did everything within their power to get ‘The Flood’ up to the No.1 position, but it just didn’t make it across the line against the force of Rihanna’s pop monster ‘Only Girl (In The World)’, which remains ensconced in the UK No.1 singles spot. McFly and Taio Cruz ‘Shine A Light’ on the No.4 position, while the Black Eyed Peas just miss the top ten with their latest track ‘The Time (The Dirty Bit)’.
• And over on the albums side of the draw, Susan Boyle slams straight into position No.1 with her latest LP ‘The Gift’. James Blunt’s latest LP ‘Some Kind Of Trouble’ came in at No.4, while Cee Lo Green’s LP ‘The Lady Killer’ was in at No.10. Spare a though for poor Nadine Coyle though – her great idea of only stocking her debut album at Tesco in the UK has seen the LP limp into the album chart at No.47.

I quite like that song, maybe it’s gained popularity thanks to the Annual?
It reminds me (fondly) of the repetitive dance trend from around 2003-2006 :)

Hey Anonymous,
They’ll have done so to highlight to radio how bloody good it is after radio will have snubbed their noses at it because it’s not from America.

Why did Universal re-service I’m In Love’?
