• Warner Music’s dance music offshoot Neon has this week serviced the brand new Wynter Gordon song ‘Dirty Talk’ to Aussie radio. Fresh from her starring role on the latest Freemasons track ‘Believer’, ‘Dirty Talk’ is already enjoying massive club success across the globe.
• Also at radio from Warner this week are the new Cee-Lo Green single ‘It’s OK’, plus a new version of INXS’s ‘Original Sin’ featuring the vocals of Rob Thomas.
• A bucketload of big name releases from the Universal Music stable this week is headlined by the servicing of the not-so-good new Black Eyed Peas single ‘The Time (Dirty Bit)’. Couple that with Robyn’s new single, a new track from Andy Bull, The Noise ftg. Xamplify with ‘It We Rock’ and the Martin Solveig/Dragonette track ‘Hello’ and you’ve got plenty of pop to choose from.
• EMI has gone out with a new single from the Japanese Popstars, who are naturally from Ireland. ‘Destroy’ is the first single from the band’s forthcoming debut EMI album, due in March. They’ve also serviced the Boy In A Box track ‘Moon Comes Up’ and Steve Mason’s ‘Boys Outside’.
• And Sony’s also got their hands full this week, with new singles for Chris Brown, Usher, Billy Thorpe, Slash and the aforementioned debut from Willow Smith – ‘Whip My Hair’.
• Universal Music has announced that Annie Lennox’s forthcoming Christmas LP ‘A Christmas Cornucopia’ has had its release pushed forward by a week. The album is now due to hit stores this weekend.
• Natallie Horler from German dance/pop outfit Cascada has announced to the world that she requires throat surgery later this month. She asks fans not to worry, in a Youtube video posted HERE.
• On the UK singles chart, Rihanna’s little promotional visit to the country seems to have done the trick, with her single ‘Only Girl (In The World)’ moving back up to the No.1 position this week after being replaced last week by Cheryl Cole’s ‘Promise This’.
Alexis Jordan’s single ‘Happiness’ debuts in the No.3 position, while Girls Aloud singer Nadine Coyle’s solo project seems to have ended before it really began – with her single ‘Insatiable’ debuting at a worrying No.26.
• And on the UK albums chart, Cheryl Cole’s album ‘Messy Little Raindrops’ debuts at No.1, followed by debuts at Nos.2 and 3 for Bon Jovi and Rumer. New at No.5 is the latest in Rod Stewart’s ‘Songbook’ series, followed by more debuts at No.7 (Jamiroquai) and No.8 (Neil Diamond). Aussie popstar Peter Andre debuted at No.10 with his new album ‘Accelerate’, while the Pet Shop Boys’ new compile ‘Ultimate’ didn’t have such an ultimate debut, managing only No.27 (probably ’cause we’ve mostly seen it all before).

I love ‘Dirty Talk’ and the fact that it’s now gone to radio, but it’s such ‘why not 8 months ago?!’ situation.

I remember when I asked about a local release for ‘Dirty Talk’ earlier this year and apparently Warner Music Australia knew nothing about it.. Hahaha. Why has it taken Australia so long to get onto this track? It’s pretty good.
