Over the course of the past few years, Miami Horror maestro Benjamin Plant and his band of merry men have been ever so slowly honing their sound. Singles like ‘Moon Theory’ and ‘Sometimes’ were great, but it was when they combined their talents with up and coming songstress Kimbra for the third single from their album ‘Illumination’, that the results were more than a little aurally pleasing.
Anyone who believes that this Melbourne based band doesn’t have a bright, rosy future need only listen to ‘I Look To You’ and know instantly that they’ll be munching their millinery.
Combining funky disco beats that reminisce of ’70s Chic with an almost folk-like sweet siren vocal, an imaginative video with futuristic makeup and a kick-ass chorus, this was truly one of the year’s local musical highlights.
If you missed it, take a walk in the woods – you won’t be disappointed. Startlingly good Aussie pop.
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls – the auspOp No.9 pop song of 2010… Miami Horror ftg. Kimbra with ‘I Look To You’.

Miami Horror definitely deserve a spot, but I think “Holidays” deserves this more than ILTY. Personally.
