Local fans of UK soul songstress Corinne Bailey Rae who’ve been hankering for some new tunes are in luck – EMI has announced that they’ll be releasing the digital-only ‘The Love EP’ in Australia this Friday.
Recorded during her world tour, Corrine says, “I recorded this EP as we travelled, taping a gig in Washington DC, snatching a few hours in an Amsterdam studio, recording backing vocals under a duvet in freezing New York, sweltering in Las Vegas as we couldn’t record with the noisy air-con turned on, editing in the back of a tour bus in Korea…”
‘The Love EP’ contains cover versions of some of Corinne’s favourite love songs from some of her favourite performers, including Prince’s ‘I Wanna Be Your Lover’ and a unique soul take on Bob Marley’s iconic ‘Is This Love?’.
‘The Love EP’ hits digital retail this Friday.
