Aussie starlet Kate Alexa is back – with a brand new single, a brand new sound and a bagful of tasty dancefloor reworkings from some of the biggest names in the game.
‘Infatuation’ is the first single to be lifted from Kate’s forthcoming (as yet untitled) third album due to drop in April, and sees her taking on a song that’s been co-written by Future Cut, the same people behind Lily Allen’s global megahit ‘Smile’.
Described as a fusion of ska and pop, the single bursts into life with a clammer of wind instruments – trumpets, trombones and sax, while the remixes (from the likes of Wawa, Almighty, Ultrabeat and Marcus Knight) send the tune firmly in the direction of the dancefloor.
The clip, due to break soon, features the singer in a London tattoo parlour seemingly getting inked, while she invents romantic storylines about the passing pedestrian traffic.
For the moment, you can get your ears around a little taster at Kate’s OFFICIAL MYSPACE.
The single is due for release on Monday January 24.
