The Australian dance community banded together almost immediately in the wake of last week’s devastating Queensland floods, originally announcing just the Dance Aid event in Melbourne.
But with a groundswell of DJ support, the event has since gone national, kicking off at the Metropolis in Fremantle last Friday, and in the days ahead Melbourne, Byron Bay, Gold Coast, Adelaide and even Darwin will get the chance to see some of the country’s biggest and brightest dance talent up close and personal, all the while raising much needed funds for the flood relief effort in the sunshine state.
The gang behind Dance Aid will also release a limited edition digital compilation album from this Friday. Featuring tracks from some of your favourite Aussie dance artists, and including exclusive acoustic versions of tracks from Dirty South and Zoe Badwi, the album will be available on iTunes for six weeks only. Again, all profits will go directly to the Queensland Premier’s Flood Relief fund.
In the meantime, catch some of your favourite artists live at the following venues;
January 19 : Melbourne (Prince Of Wales)
January 20 : Byron Bay (La La Land)
January 20 : Gold Coast (Platinum)
January 21 : Adelaide (Red Square)
January 23 : Darwin (Discovery)
