P!NK : Most Girls
Australians have always had a bit of an affinity for US singer P!nk. Indeed, we were among the first countries to really get behind the singer songwriter, allowing her debut single ‘There You Go’ to come close to hitting the top spot back in 2000.
But it was her second single ‘Most Girls’, produced by Babyface, that gave P!nk her first ever number one single – and it was right here in Australia.
The R&B fulled track, that sounded not dissimilar to everything Darkchild was pumping out at the time, also hit the top five in her homeland and was her equal highest charting hit there until 2008’s ‘So What’.
Look back at the clip – with it’s dance routines, bare-chested men and urban beats – and you’ll see it’s a million miles away from where she is now stylistically. She’s successfully morphed into a full-fledged rock chick.
But the one thing that’s not changed is P!nk’s universal appeal… Her apparent rock-star attitude and her seemingly endless supply of good old-fashioned spunk.
