CANDICE ALLEY : Falling
She’s probably now better known as the wife of Australian swimming star Grant Hackett, but when she burst onto the Australian pop scene back in 2003 with her debut single ‘Falling’, Candice Alley was being touted as being one of Australia’s hottest new talents. Bagging an ARIA nod for best new talent that year, ‘Falling’ was the singer’s biggest hit – a super-cool summery track that was highlighted by Candice’s sublime smokey vocals. It hit the top ten here and two years ago was given the remix treatment by The Attic and Fred Falke for an assault on the US club scene where it eventually cracked the top 40.
As for the clip? Poor Candice in her pokey studio apartment – she’s got possibly one of the worst cases of rising damp ever recorded… Or could it just be that she left the bath running a little too long?
