Seems like Mark Ronson isn’t the only one announcing local headline shows this morning, with MGMT also confirming that they’ll step out from the relative comfort of the Future Music Festival umbrella to venture onto the solo stage in early March.
And as with Mark Ronson, it’s Sydney and Melbourne who’ll benefit from these dates.
While the band hasn’t really graced the Aussie singles chart since their corking second track ‘Electric Feel’ hit the top ten back in 2008, they’ve been all over the albums chart, with both their debut and its follow-up ‘Congratulations’ hitting the top ten upon release. And after such success, it’s fair to say that their legion of loyal local fans will be eager to see them doing the headline thing.
Tickets for the sideshows, meanwhile, will hit the sales desks on Monday January 24.
