• A few more new tracks out to radio this week – we covered EMI and Universal’s lots yesterday. Sony Music hasn’t been idle this week either. Yesterday, they popped out the new single from New Zealand songstress Brooke Fraser. ‘Betty’ is the second local single to be lifted from the singer’s latest album ‘Flags’ and precedes her Aussie tour later this month.
• They also serviced the Fred Falke remixes of Ke$ha’s latest single ‘We R Who We R’, while Warner Music re-serviced Michael Buble’s ‘Hollywood’ and The Deftone’s new tune ‘You’ve Seen The Butcher’.
• Universal Music, meantime, has sent out their first new release schedule for the year, revealing an in-store date for Nicole Scherzinger’s new solo project. As yet untitled, but featuring the hot single ‘Poison’, it’s currently due to drop on Friday March 18.
• The new release schedule also reveals that Cut Copy’s new album ‘Zonoscope’, due on February 04, will be released in both standard and CD/DVD deluxe editions.
• The latest in the Fabriclive series of albums (No.55) has been mixed by Brazilian drum & bass DJ Marky (below). The 24 track album will hit the stores through Balance Music on Friday January 21.
• On the UK singles chart, Rihanna has hit the No.01 spot again with her new single ‘What’s My Name’. It’s a Ri-Ri double this week, with her album ‘Loud’ also maintaining it’s run atop the British albums chart. The Barbadian features twice more in the UK top ten – on ‘Only Girl (In The World)’ and David Guetta’s ‘Who’s That Chick’.
• Elsewhere on the British singles chart, Katy B hits the top ten (No.04) and hot new thing Jessie J is in at No.05 with her debut ‘Do It Like A Dude’.
• And over on the UK albums chart, Cee Lo Green’s into the No.04 position with ‘The Lady Killer’, while Rumer’s ‘Seasons Of My Soul’ heads into the top 10 with a splash – up 15 spots to No.06.
