Ex-Sugababe Mutya Buena said she was in “two minds” about forging ahead in the music biz last year but this latest dance collabo might suggest otherwise. Here the soulful singer teams up with upcoming UK DJ/producer Paul Morrell – who has worked with Sonique and 4Strings – for the stomping and rather pleading club track: ‘Give Me Love’. The video sees Ms Mutya rocking several garish shades of lipstick while some vague narrative about unrequited love rolls out against the cityscape. This marks the original Sugababe’s first dance music crossover since the brilliant 2007 hit ‘Song 4 Mutya (Out of Control)’ with Groove Armada, which made #8 in the UK and #24 in Australia.
Aussie producer Kalas is one of a few (Hoxton Whores, TripWire etc) who’ve contributed remixes to the digital package, which will get a global release on Monday March 14. DL
