SHANIA TWAIN : That Don’t Impress Me Much
Your attention please… Could anyone knowing the whereabouts of one Eilleen Regina Edwards (Shania Twain) please return her to the recording studio immediately. Thankyou. Yes, it’s been a desperately long time between drinks for a woman who was once on top of the country/pop pile. Back in the late 1990s and early 2000s Shania could do no wrong, peppering the Australian charts with crossover hits like ‘You’re Still The One’, ‘From This Moment On’, ‘Man! I Feel Like A Woman’ and ‘(If You’re Not In It For Love) I’m Outta Here’.
But after 2002’s ‘Up’ and its subsequent singles releases, she disappeared. Though her 2004 best-of served up a couple of new morsels for the fans to get their teeth into, she’s been eerily silent since the middle of last decade.
A divorce, a TV show, book deal and a wedding have all occupied Shania’s life in recent years, but it’s tracks like ‘That Don’t Impress Me Much’ that remind us that she’s just a little bit missed (despite the overuse of leopard print).
