The one bad thing about the new Paris Wells track and its accompanying video is that it’s so left field and unexpected that mainstream radio station music directors just won’t get it, resulting in little airplay.
But quite frankly, who gives a shit about mainstream radio station music directors anyway? They’re just filling in the blank eight minute spaces between ads to keep their asses in a job with something they perceive to be palatable to the masses.
The great thing about the new Paris Wells clip is that it indeed IS so left field and unexpected.
Take its ’20s beat, the breakdown in the middle and the quirky-as-hell black and white video clip that seduces with a peppering of Paris, and a dusting of Down Under.
And sure it might not be mainstream enough to compete in the charts against the latest drivel from the Black Eyed Peas et al (it’s over between us), but that, kids, is a very good thing.
