Born in Moscow, landing in Australia via the Dominican Republic and spending time in Perth, new up and coming indie-pop singer Fantine now calls Sydney home.
It’s from there that she’s released her debut single ‘Rubberoom’. Recorded in the UK, the track fuses together elements of soul, funk, pop and electro and it’s a whole lotta cool.
Fantine looks every bit the up-to-the-minute pop diva in her debut video with an edgy look that recalls Kelis in some of her most recent visual outings.
And as for that title? Fantine describes ‘Rubberoom’ as “the place where lost ideas go”.
A debut EP is slated for release sometime this year, and if it can maintain the quality, listenability and the likeability of this debut single, we can’t wait to hear it.

I’ve had this track on high rotation for a month and it’s funky charm still has me spellbound. I hope radio gets behind Rubberroom, because Fantine has one hell of a hot track here.
