There’s been a heck of a lot of debate in music circles about George Michael’s new single – a cover of New Order’s classic ‘True Faith’ – and the star’s continued use of the good ol’ vocoder throughout. Purists are up in arms.
At the song’s heart, however, is the chance to raise funds for Comic Relief – it’s one of the official charity singles for 2011 – and love it or loathe it, the song’s aim is planted squarely in the fundraising pot.
It’s a shame, therefore, that they didn’t make the track available to purchase outside the UK.
George was also one of a number of British celebrities to throw himself into a sketch on the Comic Relief telecast in the UK (HERE), showing he certainly knows how not to take himself too seriously. Such fun.
