MADONNA : What It Feels Like For A Girl
We all know that Madonna rarely does things by halves. So when she got hubby at the time Guy Ritchie to direct the video for her 2001 single ‘What It Feels Like For A Girl’ – the third single from her album ‘Music’ – you just knew that sparks would fly.
And didn’t they just. Madonna was hell-bent on self-destruction in the clip, and whether it was stealing cars, tazering innocents at the ATM, pointing a gun at the police or going on some kind of demolition derby, it was all done with a tiny splash of humour (the name of the rest home for one) an environmental conscience (popping her rubbish in the bin) and a couple of fake licences (Esther, Susan, Dita, Madge etc). It was all highly controversial, of course, and the clip concludes with one almighty bang.
So superb was it that Madonna decided to release it on a DVD single.
