• Star of hit Channel 10 TV show ‘Glee’ Matthew Morrison will release his debut single ‘Summer Rain’ in the US this week. The track isn’t a cover of the Belinda Carlisle hit, moreover it’s written by Morrison, Norwegian duo Espionage and Claude Kelly. No word yet on a local release.
• When the Bruno Mars tour was announced early last month, Frontier Touring hinted that extra tickets would be made available to the Melbourne show at Festival Hall once all the show’s production sightlines had been confirmed. That’s now happened and Frontier has indeed announced extra tickets for the Bruno Mars Melbourne show. But given there are just a few hundred to sell, it’s anticipated they’ll sell rather quickly when they go on sale on Wednesday.
• Speaking of tours and the boys from Gypsy And The Cat have scored the coveted support slot on the forthcoming Aussie tour for pop princess Kylie Minogue. The boys’ new single ‘Jona Vark’ is out now.
• More tour news this week – this time for Gossling, who’s bagged the support role on the forthcoming ‘Great Barrier Grief’ tour for Oh Mercy.
• First release tickets for Creamfields have now sold out across the country, with the exception of the show at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre. Deadmau5, Martin Solveig, Skrillex, Chuckie and Simon Patterson are among the swag of top name DJs to appear around Australia.
• Sydney outfit Sparkadia has announced a second show in Melbourne as part of The Great Impression national tour. The new show takes place on Saturday March 26 at The HiFi, with tickets on sale now.UK outfit Mirrors will release their debut album ‘Lights And Offerings’ (pictured above) in Australia on Friday April 11 through Balance Music. The self-produced ten tracker was recorded in a French hippy commune in the middle of Sussex .
• Celebrity DJ Ruby Rose has been added to the line-up for ‘Sidetracked’ at the Australian Formula One Grand Prix in Melbourne at the end of the month.
• Channel [V], Triple M and Sony Music are bringing the Foo Fighters to Australia for a very special one-off live performance. The band will take to the stage on Thursday March 24 for the show at an undisclosed location on Sydney Harbour. For those not in attendance, the ‘Wasting Light On The Harbour’ show will be broadcast on both Channel [V] and Triple M on April 02 at 11am.
• Aussie DJ Havana Brown has scored herself an exclusive 12 month residency in Las Vegas. She debuts at the Paris Las Vegas Chateau Nightclub & Gardens tonight local time.
• Adam Brand has taken out the Australian Artist of The Year prize at this year’s Country Music Channel awards, held in the New South Wales Hunter Valley this week. Starlet Taylor Swift took out the award for the International Artist Of The Year.
• On the Billboard singles chart this week, Lady Gaga has maintained her hold on the number one position with ‘Born This Way’. Cee Lo Green’s ‘F**k You’ is still in the No.2 spot, with Pink, Rihanna and Katy Perry surging. Jennifer Lopez’ new single ‘On The Floor’ debuts impressively in the No.9 spot.
• And on the US albums chart, Adele makes a spectacular splash in the No.1 spot with her latest LP ’21’. Her previous title ’19’ rushed back into the US top 20, while the next highest debut is down at No.29 (Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows).
