With Anzac Day just over a month away, the team at Warner Music has shifted into top gear in their search for three talented Anzac soldiers who’ll ultimately become ‘The Diggers’.
Buoyed by the success of The Soldiers’ debut album in the UK (their LP went on to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for army charities there), The Diggers, made up of two Aussies and one New Zealander, will attempt to replicate the fundraising success locally, releasing an album early next month that will not only pay tribute to our brave men and women serving in the military, but will raise much needed funds to support Legacy.
The threesome will not only be current serving members of our armed forces, they’ll also be vocally talented and will record versions of beloved tracks like ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ and ‘Stand By Me’, along with Australian favourites such as ‘True Blue’ and ‘I Still Call Australia Home’.
You can follow the story of the album’s development and the search for the talented soldiers on The Diggers’ official FACEBOOK PAGE.
Meantime, look for the album to drop into stores on Thursday April 21.
