AMAURY VASSILI : Sognu
As one of the ‘big five’ countries, France gets a leg-up in the Eurovision competition, automatically qualifying for the grand final in Dusseldorf on Saturday May 14.
Their entry this year comes courtesy of 21 year old ‘popera’ singer Amaury Vassili. No stranger to success in France (he’s released two albums, the first of which enjoyed double platinum success there), he’ll be performing the dramatic song ‘Sognu’, which in English means ‘Dream’.
Those participating in Eurovision drinking games, in which punters take a sip of their chosen alcoholic beverage every time a performer hits the ‘money note’, best take note – brace yourself for Amaury – there are a few here.
Think a French version of our own Mark Vincent and you won’t be far off the mark.
