The Music Network this week revealed that Lady Gaga would be headed to Australia in July this year for promotional duties, along with a spate of live shows to be announced later.
Lady Gaga herself has this morning revealed the long-awaited video for her latest single ‘Judas’.
Credit where it’s due, the girl certainly knows how to put on a spectacle for her legion of ‘monstrous’ fans – from the opening sequence where she’s seemingly screaming along the freeway on the back of a motorbike, to the tight dance sequences in a number of different set-ups to the non-stop cascade of spectacular costumery – it’s all here within the five and a half minutes of the clip.
Pity then that the song itself isn’t up to much. We weren’t fans of ‘Born This Way’, we’re not really fans of ‘Judas’ and given the public’s lacklustre support of the latter, we’re beginning to wonder if Gaga’s almost unrelenting self-belief has started to wane.

It’s interesting how anyone who doesn’t like a new Lady Gaga release is automatically labelled a “hater”. auspOp has never been backwards in coming forwards about a particular song by an established artist that isn’t really doing it for them (e.g. BEP’s Time Of My Life), so it’s not like they’re picking on poor Lady Gaga. I absolutely loved her first two albums (especially The Fame Monster – The Fame had a bit too much filler), but so far, the Born This Way project isn’t striking anywhere near as big a chord with me. The title track is better than Judas, but I consider all of Gaga’s previous singles (with the exception of Eh Eh and including Dance In The Dark) to be superior. Does this make me a hater? Regarding the Madonna ripoff accusations levelled towards BTW, I agree. Initially, Lady Gaga claimed that Madonna was OK with it, but now she’s claiming that suggesting that the songs are similar is “retarded” (then she had to apologise for using the term “retarded”). Perhaps she’s a tad over being accused of copying – it must get annoying with half the planet is making the accusations! auspOp, great work, as always!! Thanks for staying true to yourselves and sharing your opinions with us!!

Please ignore the Gaga stans. Some of us appreciate that this blog doesn’t LOVE everything Gaga releases.
I’m a Gaga fan, not obsessed with her, but a fan. Born This Way and Judas have both been disappointing efforts from someone who claimed this would basically be the best album ever made.

If you don’t like what is said in this blog, just don’t read it, simple as that.

I’m going to put my armour on and shield and stand in front of you Auspop. The two anonymous dudes that responded to this post are dickheads. As far as I know, there are no other reliable Aussie sources for music out there so piss off if you don’t like what Auspop is doing…

Well everyone has their opinions and auspop is just putting it out there, big deal.

The video is better than the song. I agree with the auspOp team, Born This Way and Judas have both been a bit disappointing. Both song’s have not lived up to the hype or to her previous singles in my opinion. I miss the good days of Bad Romance or Love Game, when the tracks were good, even if they were shallow lyrically.

The GAGA trolls are in full flight. Not every one likes her.
Both her two songs have been average at best – and both come with controversy over if they are original or rip offs.
The massive ego of GAGA might be rubbing people up the right way, who says they are ‘the most talented artist recording at the moment’. Please – let the gaga bubble burst!

I was actually expecting something way more shocking then what it turned out to be. But I like it better than ‘Born This Way’.

Born this way broke tons of records and is one of the most sucessfull songs this year , how can you say that the publics not intrested in it. lady gaga will break many more record and continue to create music which focuses on meaning rather then some shitty dance song. But i also hate how you guys praise bad material from aussie artists. Dont be biased , if your going to critisize you must be critical and constructive in how you approach it. but i do support the arguement to cover aussie artist as we live in australia. Youve lost the intrest of me visiting this blog. i honestly get turned off by some posts. Youve heard Two songs from Born THis way and have the guts to questions gagas future. Judas has a deeper meaning then most people think its an amazing song and born this way is about acceptance. Not hate towards the AusPop team. Cheers

Hey Anonymii,
To be fair, we’ve only said negative things about Gaga on two occasions – both co-inciding with the official videos for this project.
We think she’s been a breath of fresh air in the pop world and has had all others quivering in fear of what she’ll do next. That said, we haven’t thought much of either ‘Born This Way’ or ‘Judas’.
But we’re BIG fans of the Gaga.
As for Stan Walker, Damien Leith etc… We’re an Aussie pop music blog and will therefore always aim to give coverage to the locals!

Everytime auspOp decides to feature Lady GaGa they also mention how they are not liking the new material. This is becoming irritating, why not just talk about the music? You don’t need to jump on the bandwagon of the “haters” let people make their own decision without their head filled with negative thoughts. It’s not like auspOp gives other artists a bad rap that have little or no talent like Justice Crew. I really enjoyed the Judas video and i appreciate the amount of effort put into the video to make it a pleasure to watch :-)

How can you not be fans of Born This Way? And whats with all the shit stuff you post – Stan Walker, Damien Leith???
