For the past three years, Olivia Newton John has been slowly but surely raising funds to build her Cancer & Wellness Centre in the suburbs of Melbourne, kicking it off with the much-publicised walk along the Great Wall Of China. Millions of dollars in donations and government grants later, the fundraising effort for the centre is now in its closing stages.
But Olivia’s got one more trick up her sleeve. It’s a reworked dance version of her 1980 hit single ‘Magic’ – lifted from the ‘Xanadu’ soundtrack.
Remixed by DJ Dan Murphy & Steve Peach, the new version will aim to set the nation’s radios and dancefloors alight (and no doubt a few queens’ hearts aflutter), but you can also be involved – in the music video.
WACCI (We’re Australian Creative Collective Inc) is aiming to create the world’s biggest ever music video in Sydney on Saturday May 28. They’ve set up a Facebook page (HERE) where you can find out all the information, and you can sign up to be part of the history making clip HERE.
Olivia will premiere the single on Dancing With The Stars on Sunday May 22.
All proceeds from sales of the new ‘Magic’ remix will be going directly to Olivia’s charity in order to complete the Cancer & Wellness Centre.
