Frontier Touring has this morning announced a national tour by both Steely Dan and Steve Winwood (pictured). The Australian visit will see both acts on the same bill, playing seven dates, five of which will be ‘Day/Night On The Green’ events. Sydney and Melbourne will also get arena shows.
Steely Dan will visit for only the second time in their existence, while Steve Winwood is set to make his first live appearance on Australian soil in more than 20 years.
Steely Dan enjoyed plenty of global chart success throughout the ’70s and ’80s with tracks like ‘Rikki Don’t Lose That Number’ and ‘Hey Nineteen’, Steve Winwood with his megahits ‘Valerie’ (recently sampled and remixed by Eric Prydz for ‘Call On Me’), ‘Back In The High Life Again’ and ‘Higher Love’.
Frontier has also advised that all the Steely Dan/Steve Winwood shows are one-offs and no second concerts will be added in any location. Tickets are on sale on Monday May 23.
