Nominees have been announced in the 2011 Mercury Prize.
The nomination announcement was made at a ceremony in London’s Covent Garden last night local time, with 12 albums up for the prestigious gong, including current international chart-topper ’21’ by British songstress Adele.
The awards ceremony proper to crown the 2011 Mercury Prize recipient, recognising excellence in British recorded music, will be held in London on Tuesday September 06.
