• No sooner have the boys from Take That finished up the British leg of their all-conquering ‘Progress Live’ tour than they’ve announced that the live DVD of the concert, filmed at Wembley Stadium, will be released in the UK on November 21. It’s anticipated that it’ll be released in Australia around the same time.
• Aussie pop princess Zoë Badwi will launch her forthcoming self-titled album from this week with dates in both Sydney and Melbourne. She’ll hit the stage at Slide in Sydney on Wednesday night, then she’ll move on to the Greyhound Hotel in Melbourne on August 03. ‘Zoë’ is released on Friday August 05.
• Those lovely peeps at Modular (they gave away a free remix of Cut Copy’s latest single last week) are this week giving away another download – this time it’s The Rapture’s new single ‘How Deep Is Your Love’ up for the freebie download. You can get your mitts on it for nix HERE.
• Aussie pop outfit Radio INK is preparing for the release of their new single ‘Rocket’ and its accompanying EP. The Sydney trio’s new tune was produced by the awesome Diamond Cut, responsible for our favourite remixes of Delta Goodrem’s ‘Believe Again’.• It worked for Take That a few years back – will it work for Steps? The sunshiney ’90s pop fivesome (pictured) who brought us hits like ‘Tragedy’ and ‘Last Thing On My Mind’, will reportedly reunite in Britain at the end of the year for a TV special documenting what went on behind the scenes that led to the band’s demise almost ten years ago. A best-of is planned, and if all goes well, they may head back into the studio.
• Things are warming up on the Kasabian front, with Sony Music confirming with us this week that ‘Days Are Forgotten’, the first single from the forthcoming album ‘Velociraptor’, will be serviced to media officially next Friday. According to our source, there’ll be some “pretty exciting Kasabian news coming through next Tuesday”.
• In the US, LMFAO are still at No.1 with their megahit ‘Party Rock Anthem’ and while the rest of the top ten remains relatively unchanged, Demi Lovato is in at No.10 on debut with her new single ‘Skyscraper’.
• And on the US album chart, country star Blake Shelton takes the crown with his new LP ‘Red River Blue’. The new Incubus album debuts at No.2, while there are debuts at No.4, No.6, No.8 and No.9 from Chris Young, Colbie Caillat, Theory Of A Deadman and Sublime With Rome respectively.
