Nominees were announced late last week for the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, to be held in Los Angeles at the end of next month.
Katy Perry scooped the pool this year, achieving an unsurpassed nine nominations for her various videos, including ‘Firework’ nominated in the coveted ‘Video Of The Year’ category.
But she’s up against some tough competition, with woman of the moment Adele clicking at her heels with seven nods. Adele is also in the running for ‘Video Of The Year’ for ‘Rolling In The Deep’.
Kanye West is the best of the blokes, also bagging seven nominations, the most high profile of which is the ‘Best Male Video’ category for ‘All Of The Lights’.
