Well it seems that Australia will be missing out on ‘Black Out The Sun’ as the second single from Darren Hayes’ forthcoming album ‘Secret Codes & Battleships’ – that honour will go to ‘Bloodstained Heart’, the track currently being used on the promos for Channel 7’s X Factor.
But that doesn’t mean that we can’t thoroughly enjoy watching and reporting on the video for the new tune, which will be digitally released in the UK in early October with orchestral and extended versions and even a 7th Heaven remix available on the British digital bundle.
To say the single version is epic is an understatement – it’s stabs of strings to open promise great things, and we’re happy to say that promise is not broken. ‘Black Out The Sun’ is dark and dramatic, suspenseful and stirring and allows Mister Hayes the opportunity to let his sublime falsetto out of the box.
Impassioned and epic. There’s no getting around it – the guy’s a superstar.

Hey Anonymous #4,
That may have been on the Australian Artists chart, but on the official ARIA singles chart it peaked at No.79.
‘Talk Talk Talk’ has been nowhere near the official top ten.

Not entirely true… the debut of Talk Talk Talk in Australia saw it at #10 on the Australian Singles Chart. That is where it peaked.

Absolutely brilliant track. He’s back in fine form. Shame it will be totally ignored here in Oz…

Hey Jenn,
We’ve heard nothing official, but we believe ‘Talk Talk Talk’ peaked at No.79 in Australia – the only country in the world where it did actually chart!

LOVE Darren. Wish Oz would give him more of a chance. We are too quick to judge and ignore. Superstar indeed
