We’ve always had a real soft spot for the music of James Morrison. From the moment he opened his gob on his debut single ‘You Give Me Something’, we were hooked by the smoky timbre and the honesty of the young man’s voice. ‘Wonderful World’, ‘Broken Strings’, ‘You Make It Real’ and even ‘Get To You’ also weaved their way into our hearts.
So now the singer is back with the first single from a brand new album – and we were hoping we’d love it as much as some of its forbearers.
It’ll probably take us a few listens, but there’s no doubt that there’s still much magic in that voice of his. The track isn’t possibly as instant as some of his previous efforts, but for those (like us) who have been missing any semblance of soul in our pop music of late, something new from the James Morrison catalogue is most welcome.
