S2S : What’s A Girl To Do?
The Sydney-based Muscat sisters Sharon and Christine burst onto the pop scene in 1999 with their debut single, perhaps not surprisingly entitled ‘Sisters’. It hit the top five in Australia and gave the girls the launch they needed for some international love – which came with top 20 success in both the UK and New Zealand.
But it was their second single – the very dance/pop orientated ‘What’s A Girl To Do?’ that we loved the most. Sure, it wasn’t quite as big a hit in the UK and New Zealand, but the track still scored itself a top five placing here in Australia.
The clip? It has a mostly tea-stained finish applied to it – with the girls performing to camera, playing keys, guitars, drums – anything they can get their hands on really. They also perform a dance routine with a horde of extras in the latter part of the clip.
Got a function coming up? The girls are available for performances (HERE), but doesn’t look like ‘What’s A Girl To Do?’ is in their repertoire. Shame.
