Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts didn’t exactly set the charts ablaze in the UK with her debut solo offering ‘Beat Of My Drum’ earlier this year – the track peaked at No.27 on the British singles charts, so no doubt she and her team will be hoping for much more from her second single ‘Lucky Day’.
So much so that she packed up her bags and crossed the Atlantic for the official video shoot, which saw her sweating her socks off on a steaming hot day in New York.
Wearing a summery skirt/smock that’s so short you can just make out her elbows, Miss Roberts cavorts along the street, waving her hands around so that the people in post can add a touch of colour to proceedings, gifting the singer almost magical powers.
Said colour increases throughout the clip as the singing becomes slightly more bonkers.
Though the track itself is a little more commercial than its predecessor, we can’t help but think that once again Nicola’s performance in the clip is relatively pedestrian. When’s Girls Aloud coming back?
