Okay, so the new video for Melbourne outfit Strange Talk is apparently a bit of a first. The good news is that deep within the confines of the four minutes and nine seconds lay a series of ‘easter eggs’ that fans can click on to have them taken to a website where they can receive a free promotional copy of the song. It’s called ‘Hotspot’ technology – and the band is apparently the first in the world to use it.
The bad news, however, is that the free download and ‘Hotspot’ is only available to viewers in the US and Canada.
But wait – there’s more good news. The clip (and the track) are pretty damned awesome – the clip shot in the Mohave Desert in California featuring plenty of colour, movement and the occasional palm tree, the track fresh as a summer’s breeze that would give Empire Of The Sun a run for their money.
A lot to like, plenty to love.
