Hearts were sent aflutter here at auspOp when we received news that the lovely Liam from EMI was getting together another edition of the highly rated ‘futurePOP’ compilations.
We’ve mentioned consistently that the futurePOP projects are hands-down the best compilation albums ever released in this country – and before all the electro-pop of the past couple of years started to permeate through the charts, here were two awesome compiles standing like proud beacons of what musically was before us.
Brilliant then, that Liam’s been involved with another installment in the futurePOP series. Volume 3 is coming to a store near you next month – and we have the cover image (pictured) and the tracklisting (in the comments section) to prove it.
So who’s on it?
Starting with disc one, there’s plenty of perfect remixed pop from the likes of Britney, Katy Perry, Cheryl Cole, Mika vs RedOne, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Little Boots, Alphabeat and even Scandinavian pop god Erik Hassle.
Disc two takes us further into electro territory with tracks from Hurts, Pet Shop Boys, The Ting Tings, Hot Chip, Tiga, Royksopp, Calvin Harris.
The third disc is a little more forward thinking, with the likes of Dan Black, Uffie, Gypsy & The Cat, Sia, Faker, Friendly Fires and Lykke Li.
Three big discs, 62 tracks. All class.
‘futurePOP 3’ is due out on Friday October 14.
