After rumours of yet another delay in the Kylie ‘Goddess Edition’ project, we’d been chasing an answer for the past week or so. Today comes news that all those who’ve ordered didn’t particularly want to hear.
After disappearing from the Warner release schedule a couple of weeks back, the new estimate delivery time for the limited edition book is November.
Producers have said that “the manufacturing of some of the books was not at the standard that we would have liked” and that “some of the books are going to be remanufactured so they are all 100%.”
They’ve also stated that the release of the book will coincide with the instore date for Kylie’s ‘Aphrodite : Les Folies’ tour DVD.
To satiate fans slightly, they’ve given a little visual hint of what to expect when it (finally) arrives.

In Warner’s defence, Ian…
The Goddess Edition, The Aphrodite Tour Edition and the physical CD single of ‘Put Your Hands Up’ were all their idea, not Kylie’s, not Parlophone’s. Warner themselves wanted to do something special for the local fans and the three special editions were the result.
Unfortunately for Kylie fans, it’s Kylie herself and her management that hold onto the rarities and unreleased goodies and guard them with their lives.
No amount of prying will ever get them from her glittery grasp, damn her!!

Hmmm…it’s a nice gesture, but I would hazard a guess that anyone who has forked out $200+ for this book will also already have the Aphrodite Tour Edition…I was thinking an exclusive limited edition CD with all the b-sides, or (God forbid!) some unreleased material…oh for the days when Mushroom Records existed as a sole entity and they actually cared about the fans…

Hey Ian,
It’s like you read their mind! They’ve also sent out an email this afternoon to say that people who’ve ordered it (presumably through the Goddess website) will also receive a copy of the ‘Aphrodite : Tour Edition’ album as a little bonus.

Disappointing, but looks worth the wait. I suppose I would be expecting too much from Warner to think that for all of our waiting we might get a little bonus CD or something for our patience???
