Something’s definitely afoot in the Australian music industry of late. We don’t quite know what’s gone on, but there seems to be an ever so slight shift in focus towards pop that’s coming out of the UK over the past few months. Sony’s obviously serviced the new Leona Lewis single ‘Collide’ to Aussie radio (there’s a digital bundle of that coming to Australia on Friday October 07).
Universal has had success with British boyband The Wanted and their single ‘Glad You Came’ – the track bulleting to the No.20 position on this week’s ARIA singles chart.
Now it looks like it’s Sony’s turn to break a new boyband with a hint on their FACEBOOK page that their debut single ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ is about to get a digital release.
There are campaigns to get the boys here, plenty of interest from fans, trending topics on Twitter and much more.
Let’s not give too much away, but a little birdy tells us that you might not have to wait much longer before you’ll see some action on ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ here in Australia. Watch this space.

Meh, I think these guys are extremely mediocre – I’d much rather see JLS or something breaking in, or even Olly getting a more of a push here with his new album :/

Only JLS and The Saturdays left to complete the set now!
