It was the brainchild of Queensland woman Dee Dimmick and this week, she’s seen her dreams realised as her ‘The Living Room’ goes live right in the heart of Sydney.
Dee essentially wanted a space where established and unknown artists could perform and she teamed up with legendary Aussie dance producer Paul Mac to see the concept come to life.
‘The Living Room’ was one of three winning concepts in American Express’s ‘Room For Thought’ campaign, aimed at finding new and innovative ideas in the worlds of music, fashion and community.
‘The Living Room’ went live for the first time yesterday at 72 Erskine Street in the city and over three big levels (and ten hours), there were plenty of unsigned artists, workshops and headliner Sarah McLeod belting out a song or two.
Today’s celebrations kick off at midday – and the best part is that even if you’re not in Sydney, you can still be part of the magic by heading onto the American Express FACEBOOK page where you can stream it all live.
‘The Living Room’ is live today and tomorrow.
