Just days after the band announced that they were bringing the curtain down on their extraordinary 31 year career, R.E.M’s label Warner Music has revealed that they’ll be releasing a comprehensive 40 track best-of compilation from the much loved US supergroup.
Entitled ‘R.E.M., Part Lies, Part Heart, Part Truth, Part Garbage, 1982 – 2011’, the compile not only includes all the band’s hits (including ‘What’s The Frequency, Kenneth? ‘, ‘Man On The Moon’, ‘It’s The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)’, ‘Losing My Religion’, ‘Orange Crush’ and ‘Shiny Happy People’), but it will also feature three brand new recordings, one of which – ‘We All Go Back To Where We Belong’ – will be released digitally on October 18.
The other new tracks are ‘A Month Of Saturdays’ and ‘Hallelujah’, which were completed after their most recent album ‘Collapse Into Now’.
‘R.E.M., Part Lies, Part Heart, Part Truth, Part Garbage, 1982 – 2011’ will be released in Australia on Friday November 18.
