It may have been an over ten year wait for new material from Irish group The Cranberries, but Shock Records has this morning confirmed that the band is on track to release a brand new album early in 2012 – and that they’ll be releasing it here in Australia.
After splitting in 2003, the band reunited last year for a global tour, which took them to (almost) all corners of the planet – across Europe and Asia, through North and South America.
On the heels of the tour, the band went back into the studio to work on what would be their first new material since their 2002 single ‘Stars’. The album is called ‘Roses’ and frontwoman Dolores O’Riordan is fizzing with excitement about its impending release.
“We had a blast in the studio, Stephen was in his zone and it came together rather quickly,” she said in a statement. “There is a sense of rejuvenation in the group, a freshness.”
The eleven track album will be released in Australia via Shock on Friday February 10.
