MADISON AVENUE : Who The Hell Are You
Melbourne duo Madison Avenue burst onto the scene in 1999 with their debut single ‘Don’t Call Me Baby’. It was a groundbreaking single in many ways because up until that point, most Aussie dance music had remained largely underground. ‘Don’t Call Me Baby’ hit the No.1 spot over in New Zealand and over in the UK, but had to settle for No.2 at home.
But it was only their follow-up, ‘Who The Hell Are You’ that hit the pinnacle of the ARIA charts and gave the band more success overseas.
The clip is set in what looks like a promo for a vodka company, with singer Cheyne Coates and her impossibly tiny frame donning a powder blue mehovaya shapka (yes, fully researched here..) giving new meaning to the term ‘ice queen’ with her frosty looks and imposing style.
