• The comeback of ’90s British pop outfit Steps (left) is on in earnest, with the Sky Living docu-mentary now halfway through its season, the new ‘Ultimate Collection’ now topping the British iTunes chart and among the most ordered titles on Amazon. The band used a morning TV show yesterday to announce the ‘Ultimate Tour’, taking in a slew of dates across the UK in April next year.
• Taylor Swift fans will love Universal Music adding her forthcoming live album to the local release schedule. ‘Speak Now World Tour : Live’ CD/DVD features tracks from the country star’s current world tour, with more than 75 minutes of music on the disc. ‘Speak Now World Tour : Live’ will be released on Friday November 25.• The local Lights action is on, with Shock Records this week sampling the first single ‘Toes’ from her new album ‘Siberia’ to Australian media. ‘Siberia’ is released locally on Friday October 28.
• Also out at radio are Powderfinger’s ‘Empty Space’, Tinie Tempah’s ‘Love Suicide’, Portugal The Man’s ‘So American’, Kate Bush’s ‘Wild Man’ and the new Duck Sauce single ‘Big Bad Wolf’.
• The boys from Georgia Fair have announced two live shows in support of the release of their forthcoming album ‘All Through Winter’. They’ll be playing The Standard in Sydney on Wednesday November 02 and at The Toff In Town in Melbourne on Wednesday November 16. Tickets for both shows are on sale now.
• Lady Gaga’s next single is locked in – ‘Marry The Night’ is the fifth official single from Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’ set and it’ll head to radio stations and other media across the country from this Monday.• A little change of pace, with Seekers frontwoman Judith Durham on the verge of releasing a new solo album. She’s been signed to an exclusive international deal with respected label Decca to release her new self-penned album ‘Epiphany’. A retrospective compilation ‘Colours Of My Life’ will be released shortly thereafter. ‘Epiphany’ hits on Friday October 28. ‘Colours Of My Life’ is in-store on Friday November 18.
• Over in the UK, Rihanna and Calvin Harris have scooped the pool with their new single ‘We Found Love’. It debuted on top of the British singles chart ahead of Maroon 5 and last week’s No.1 from Sak Noel. LMFAO’s ‘Sexy And I Know It’ rockets up to No.7.
• And James Morrison has remained on top of the British albums chart for a second consecutive week with his new album ‘The Awakening’, though Adele is surging again. You Me At Six debuts at No.3 with ‘Sinners Never Sleep’ and Lady Antebellum’s ‘Own The Night’ comes in at No.4. Ben Howard’s ‘Every Kingdom’ debuted at No.7.
