Every now and again a song and a band come to our attention that we just can’t not pop out there and share with you.
One such band popped into our inbox late last week with their brand new video and news about their forthcoming debut EP called ‘Lemons’.
The band is Tessa & The Typecast. They hail from Ballarat in regional Victoria, but have now made Melbourne home.
They’ve provided support for a number of high profile local artists like Little Red, Owl Eyes and Kate Miller-Heidke and have received support from community radio stations and Triple J.
‘Painter’ is the lead single from the EP and its release is accompanied by this rather breathtakingly colourful piece of cinematography (below) – the official video – which brings together flourishes of gorgeous colour with intricate instrumentation and glorious soaring vocals. The ‘Lemons’ EP is due for release on October 14.
In the meantime, you can catch the band launching said EP with three live shows, kicking off in Melbourne on October 22.
October 22 : Melbourne (Buffalo Club)
October 29 : Sydney (The Beresford)
October 30 : Sydney (LowBar 302)
