We were first introduced to the beguiling sounds of The Trouble With Templeton (aka Brisbane’s Thomas Calder) earlier this year.
At the time he was launching his gorgeous single ‘Bleeders’ with a trio of live shows in his home town and we said of the single, “There’s something most raw and honest about Thomas’ voice and if this is any indication of what to expect at tonight’s launch, audiences are in for something rather special.”
As we mentioned at the time, his music isn’t the kind of stuff you’d normally read about on the pages of this here site – it’s sweet, unaffected acoustic guitar indie-pop, but we feel that it needs to be heard.
Thomas has just released his debut album – also called ‘Bleeders’. The nine tracker feels like a body of work from someone who’s been around for decades, not years, displaying a depth of character and emotion that you’ll seldom discover on commercial radio.
And better still, the album is entirely self-produced and mixed.
