We’ve been mightily impressed with what Sydney outfit Radio Ink has served up before – particularly their single ‘Rocket’, which was released last year.
The R.I. rumblings are, however, getting louder with each passing month – and they’ve now been gifted the support slot on Danish outfit Aqua’s forthcoming tour of Australia, meaning a whole new audience is about to fall into their grasp.
The band is also on the verge of releasing a spanking new single entitled ‘Who We Are Tonight’ and we’re among the first (if not THE first) to give you the inside goss.
It’s the first single to be lifted from the band’s forthcoming album, it’s been produced by the amazing Diamond Cut, who did extraordinary things to Delta Goodrem’s ‘Believe Again’ and has been produced by Joe Zook, who’s worked with everyone from P!nk to Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson and even Radiohead. It was co-written by Shelly Peiken, who’s penned for Christina Aguilera and Jessie J to name but two and Kojak, who’s worked with Flo Rida, Ke$ha and Katy Perry.
So without a shadow of a doubt, the track’s got a pretty amazing pop pedigree.
And the track IS incredibly pop. Entirely likeable, definitely listenable, with a catchy chorus, great beats, pure pop production and a summery heart, there’s nothing here to turn your nose up at. Another perfect pop gem from a band on a perennially upward trajectory.
‘Who We Are Tonight’ is released digitally on Friday March 09.
