British girl group The Saturdays have been trying their hardest since ‘If This Is Love’ back in 2008 to nab themselves a No.1 single in their homeland, sadly without success. True, they’ve got close on a number of occasions with six of their singles reaching the top five, but none has quite ticked over into the top spot.
No doubt the girls will be hoping their fortunes are reversed with the upcoming release of their new single ’30 Days’, which the girls premiered in the UK today.
It takes them back to more of a dance/pop vibe after the failure of last year’s album ‘On Your Radar’ to crack the top 20.
But as always, there’s going to be one little thing standing in the way of them reaching their goal. And it all boils down to the blatant stupidity of their record company. Even though we live in a digital age, their label Fascination/Polydor still thinks it’s absolutely fine to make their fans wait for 44 days to legally buy the bloody thing! By which stage, of course, most people will have either tired of it or illegally acquired it. Idiots.

so true, its rare too that singles will be awaited to preorder, most of them are released pronto, so it surprises me that any record company would be as stupid to wait that long. In 44 days time there will new songs people are raving about to buy on iTunes

Great song

Yes I agree that amount of time is obscene. However I think there is still definitely a lot to be said by premiering a track and waiting SOME time before you release it. The UK Chart has a much higher rate of new entries that chart higher as a result of this method. I think they did try the “on air on sale” method but ended up with big names debuting too low, but waiting 6 weeks is highly irritating. I think 3 weeks would be a good middle ground.

I absolutely LOVE The Saturdays. 44 days is a ridiculous wait deffo, however I think this song is too generic.
Notorious and All Fired Up were fucking IMMENSE. Will be hard for them to ever top those 2 tracks IMO.
