There had been much speculation about Kylie Minogue possibly hitting the road for some small, intimate, acoustic dates for the super-fans where she delved into her catalogue of lesser-known hits, b-sides and album tracks.
But now the pop princess has confirmed the news, with shows in Sydney and Melbourne announced for later this month.
However, the venues are much smaller than we’ve come to expect from Kylie concerts past and there are only two shows.
Kylie’s team describes the shows as, “Small, intimate, unexpected. A unique experience, for super fans only. Kylie and her band performing those songs you thought you’d never hear live! The flipside to a huge “Kylie production”, a once in a lifetime chance and a night to remember.”
Given they’re so intimate, ticket sales for both of them are expected to go rather ballistic when they go on sale at midday tomorrow.
March 18 : Melbourne (Palace Theatre)
March 20 : Sydney (Luna Park Big Top)

Good for those that get to go … I can’t justify travel and accom atop the ticket price…
If only she would come to Brisbane too. . . *sad*

Hey Anonymous #2,
Beyond being able to advise that the album has been certified Platinum (70,000 copies +), there’s no word on official figures.

I agree with Ian, very disappointing if there are only shows in Melbourne & Sydney. She is a “national treasure”, not just an “East Coast” one…

This is very disappointing news for so-called “super fans” that don’t live in Melbourne or Sydney…
If Kylie is going to do something like this, sure, limit the shows to one per city, but make them accessable to all fans. I’ve looked into flights to Melbourne for the first show, and because it is Grand Prix weekend, airfares from Perth and accommodation costs in Melbourne are ridiculously high.
I love Kylie, but I don’t love her enough to fork out $1500+++ just for flights & accommodation for one show, which I am sure will be awesome. I will know the words to every song sung, but unfortunately it will be from afar.
Fingers crossed a DVD & CD will be recorded for those of us geographically unable to attend.
Perhaps this is just a taster of a more widescale tour to take place later in the year…one can only hope…
One very disappointed Perth Kylie fan here…

I agree – great poster, hot look.
I think this a good move for Kylie – a great 25th anniversary gift for fans. Hopefully her upcoming greatest hits album will include new material too.
Do we have any estimate of how much Aphrodite sold in Australia?
